Musical Exodus for Passover

Share

Passover is one of the most important and significant Jewish holidays which has been celebrated for more than 3300 years.  Only at this point, the Jews are all united as a nation of huge population.

In the Biblical description (Exodus), Moses and Aaron were told by the Lord to speak with Pharaoh to allow Israelite to celebrate a feast in the desert.  Since Pharaoh was unwilling to do that, Moses was instructed to bring 10 plagues to the Egyptians, in order to demonstrate the sovereignty of G-d in the world’s creation.

The ten plagues are: water turns into blood, frogs, lice, swarm of wild beasts,  diseased livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the last one –  death to the first-born males.

Not until Pharaoh’s first-born son had died did Pharaoh finally grant Moses’ request.
