The warning reads: “Opening this kit may reduce its effectiveness! Storage instructions: Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Keep away from children. Open this kit only under clear instructions from the rear command.”

As you may have guessed already, it’s a gas mask. Every Israeli adult receives such a box when the situation in the region gets tough. The latest occasion was the Israeli-Gaza conflict in 2014, which every Israeli receives a notice to get a box, and a minor gets a box, too. Minor’s box is bigger than the adult’s, as it contains syringes of serum inside.
