Have you ever thought about buying a autonomous-driving car, but still don’t want to give up the car that you already own?
No problem, IVO is here to save the day. IVO is a robot driver that can be placed on any vehicle’s driver’s seat. IVO uses cameras, sensors and mechanical equipment to step on the accelerator and brake pedals, and turn the steering wheel. It comes with simple sensors backed by a powerful and complex algorithm.
At present, the driver robot uses Google Maps to reach the destination, and able to drive on its own.
Moreover, the robot driver is cheap – only US$ 1,600, and if it goes into large-scale production, the price will be even cheaper. Right now, IVO is still the prototype of the Ben Gurion University laboratory in Israel. The project leader is very optimistic about the opportunity of IVO, because it has the potential to instantly turn any cars in the world into a autonomous car. The driver robot weighs only 33 pounds (15 kg) and can also be placed in a suitcase.
